Vietnam in gorgeous photos of bike backpackers

Having a chance to explore the highway Saigon – Hanoi by bicycle, Mr Hung Nguyen had interesting experiences.

The highway 1A is the top choice for bike backpackers who want to conquer their own abilities. Many of them like the roads along the coast of the central region of Vietnam because of its beauty and spectacular mountain passes. To people loving discovery and having a good stamina, a long trip from Saigon to Hanoi will bring unforgettable memories. Before starting out, asking people having experiences for advice, and preparing everything carefully with your close friends are very necessary to help you overcome difficulties before starting out.

Hung’s trip lasted 18 days, going through 20 provinces from Saigon to Hanoi. Everyday he rode 100 kilometers in 6 hours. He started riding from 6 am and had a short break of 15 minutes and take a rest of 2 hours at midday.

Here are Hung’s experiences when going backpacking by bicycle:

- You should prepare good mental health and physical health to be able to ride all day. Depending on your physical strength, you can choose a suitable itinerary. Doing exercise everyday before starting your journey will help your body not to pain when riding for hours.

- The ideal weight of luggage is less than 15 kilograms. You should avoid carry too many electronic devices and valuable items. In addition, carrying casual clothes, sport clothes, and costumes being able to protect your skin from sunshine is very important.

- Camera or small camcorder will be necessary to capture great memories. You also shoul not forget to carry GPS device.

- You need to make a plan for your journey and find out about places to eat and drink, and accomodation to stay overnight. Also, you have to ask for price before buying anything in strange regions.

- Getting enough water and minerals for your body is what you have to remember. You should not eat strange food and unhygienic food.

- Being careful when you take part in traffic, especially in northern provinces, the highways are quite bad. You should not go in the evening or go in deserted streets.

- You need partners in your journey except that you can be independent or you like going alone.

- Being always cheerful and optimistic. Communicating with local people will help you more understand about their life and custom.

Don village, a mysterious legend

Don Village has the long-standing fame for elephant hunters and trainers. All Vietnamese children remember their heart a song about the elephants at this village.
Don Village is located northwest of Buon Ma Thuot in Krong Na Commune, Buon Don District, Dak Lak Province close to the Cambodian border, approximately 42km from Buon Ma Thuot. It is built on the Island inside Serepok Rive, home of many ethnic minority groups like: Ede, M’nong, G’rai, Lao, Thai, etc.
There is Yok Don National Park here - one of the most famous National Park in Vietnam.

It has been famous for its Kru  -powerful elephant tribe leaders, for a long time, and is well known in India and France for its elephant. Y Pui, a 102-year-old man (1883-1985) who tamed over 450 elephants, spent part of his life as King Bao Dai’s Mahout. Elephant training and hunting has been passed down through generations. It takes 67 months to domesticate a wild elephant.
Elephant riding is a experience that toursits in Vietnam travel will never forget. Include fording across the Serepok River, which is pretty cool. The elephants can hold two to three people, depending on their girth (the passengers, not the elephants).
It's a pleasant enough spot - there's  The raditional long house full of souvenirs to buy, and the tribespeople that work there spend the day putting on musical shows using traditional instruments for group after group of tourists.
There are an annual traditional festival of the Don Village, which will also show visitors performances of gongs, UN

This is an opportunity for Vietnamese and foreign tourists to come and learn about the Don Village and York Don National Park of the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak. Don Village becomes the “can-not-be-missed” destination in Vietnam travel.

Together with the eating and drinking culture in the Central region, the broth here is often made from fishes instead of meat, and other ingredients are quite different. Thanks to this difference, jelly fish noodle has the sweet and delicious taste that you will be never fed up with. When tasting this dish, we can imagine the scenery when the people go shopping at early morning to buy fish and other ingredients, and cook this delicious dish carefully.
The local people are always interested in this dish, and of course, the tourists are also like that. In spite of just visiting once, they will not miss a chance to taste this simple but delicious dish. Thanks to this simple processing, the jelly fish noodle still keeps the taste of nature, the own taste of sea.

In order to cook jelly fish dish, we use the small type of jelly fish which equals to a big toe, has a milky color, and about 2cm deep. The fishermen on the island have to go far on sea to catch this fish. Liet fish is the main ingredient to cook the broth. It does not small bone and very sweet. Furthermore, the grilled chop meat from the delicious fishes such as mackerel, mullet, etc…is the accompany dish. Along with this dish also have noodle, leave mint, etc…
Though jelly fish noodle is sold in many places, Nha Trang is the most famous place. With the one who is far from their hometown, coming back to Nha Trang, they surely find the restaurant to taste this delicious dish.
